I’m not one for making new year’s resolutions in January – I think there’s too much hype around promises I could never stick to. I tend to set intentions in January and then hold myself accountable to the ones I really want to do from February onwards.

Last year, it was losing weight, and I’m now a stone lighter than I was this time last year.

Did you make resolutions? Or choose a word of the year, or set intentions or something similar?

If you didn’t, perhaps I can suggest one: let’s make this the year that you find it easier to juggle all your projects.

Now is the best time to start mastering multiple projects. It feels like there’s never been greater expectation on project managers to juggle several things at once. And there’s never been an easier way to learn from home, from experts, on your own schedule.

I think the requirement for the vast majority of us to lead multiple projects simultaneously just isn’t going away, so if you can develop the skills to do it without burning out and working All The Hours then you’ll be a step ahead of your colleagues.

Multi-project management is my theme for 2021. It’s different from managing one big project – and I’ve done both.
