Three easy steps on how to block a user on Reddit
- Click their username from the list of users who have commented on your post.
- Select “Block User” from the drop-down menu.
- Confirm by clicking “Block.”
Blocking A User on Reddit Via Windows or Mac
Go to Reddit.com and log in. Right-click the user’s username you want to block and select “Block User.” go to a message sent by the user you wish to block or a post where the user commented.

Open the Reddit app. Tap the three lines in the upper left corner of the screen. Scroll down and tap “Settings.” Tap “Accounts.” Under “Blocked Accounts,” tap “+ Add Blocked User.”
Enter the user’s username you want to block, then tap “Next.”

Blocking A User on Reddit Via iOS
Open the Reddit app. Tap the username of the user you want to block. Tap “Block” in the top right corner of their profile card. Open the messages with the person you wish to block or any post they have commented on.
How do I know if I have blocked a user?
Go to your Settings on the Android or iOS app, then go to Accounts and select Your username under Account Settings. Tap “Manage Blocked Accounts,” which you can find under “Blocking and Permissions” in the menu.
Why can’t I block someone on Reddit?
As stated before, if the user you want to block has not interacted with you or messaged you, then you cannot block them. Users of Reddit cannot block individuals who have not directly interacted with them.

You can unblock in three steps:
Go to your “Settings” page by clicking the gear icon in the top right corner of any page.
Select “Blocked Users” from the menu on the left.
Click “Unblock User” next to the user you wish to unblock.
Reporting someone after you blocked them
Blocking someone will prevent you from seeing his content. If that person has broken
Reddit’s rules against harassment made threats of violence, racism, or any other hate speech; please report him as well.
Submitting reports is one of the most effective ways to take care of yourself, your communities, and your Reddit buddies.
It does not have a built-in reporting function.
You can contact the moderators (MOD) of any subreddit active user.
How to contact moderators on Reddit?
Unique indicators next to the usernames of moderators, Reddit officials, and the original post’s (also known as OP) author distinguish them. The MOD or shield icon will appear next to the moderators’ usernames.
Also, you can email them from their “Email User” page.
Blocking is entirely anonymous, so you will not receive a notification or discover that you have blocked someone. This means the person cannot comment on what you wrote.
How To Block Specific Subreddits
If you don’t want to see posts from a specific subreddit, you can add the subreddit to your “blocked domains” list. This will stop Reddit from loading that subreddit’s content on any page you visit.
To block a subreddit on Windows:
Go to Reddit.com and log in. Click the gear icon in the top right corner and select “Options.” Select “Content Options.” Under “Blocked Domains,” add the subreddit you want to block.
How do I unblock subreddits?
Go back to your blocked domains. Click on a domain that you wish to remove from the list. Click the “X” next to the domain. Click “Remove.”
As you can see, blocking someone on Reddit is a simple process that will keep them away from your account. If they somehow find their way back in, it’s easy to block them again.
Just remember not to unblock them, or else they’ll be able to pester you again!
